Recipe: Affogato


Affogato, Italian for “drowned”, is a delicious coffee-based dessert that typically involves pouring a shot of espresso over a scoop (or two) of ice cream.

While there are different variations of affogato, here is my go-to recipe:

  • 1 scoop of your favourite flavour of Betterwith Ice Cream. I suggest Cream.
  • 1 shot of espresso. Try Moja Coffee or Moja Decaf if it’s a late, late dinner party. Moja Decaf is blend of Indonesian coffee subjected to the Swiss Water process, a gentle 100% chemical free process that decaffeinates coffee.
  • Take it to the next level by adding 1/2 ounce of Cognac. Molto Buono.

Enjoy with a spoon or sip slowly. The affogato is an easy, crowd-pleasing dessert.
